International buyer here, NM sent the wrong item! Making me pay for return shipping!

Ever since they stopped their International deliveries, I have been shopping internationally by using a freight forwarding service in USA. Imagine the inconvenience, hassle and $$$ lost when a wrong item was inside the package. Ordered a coat dress and inside was this lipstick tray kit the size of a saucer! Absolutely terrible quality control and customer service. The agents I have emailed responded to me in what looked like a common and impersonal template. Neiman Marcus wants me to send the lipstick tray back to them (which probably costs $5 to make), making me spend $$ in international shipping fee from my country, before they can issue me a refund. Other companies would have been, "keep the wrong item, we will refund you in full and even give a promo code for the inconvenience" but no, not NM. I doubt they are even truly sorry for this. I know mistakes happen but why do I have to be the one to pay for a mistake I did not make? Oh, the coat dress I paid for is not even available anymore. What a waste of time and money! I would give 0, the 1 star is generous.

I bought a sterling silver Reed & Barton christening cup from Neiman's. It took weeks to be delivered, and when it arrived, it was packed in a small Reed & Barton box within all the packaging. The small plastic bag that was supposed to cover the cup had been ripped open, and the cup was tarnished with multiple fingerprints. I cleaned off the tarnish to find multiple scratches beneath. I won't be doing business with Neiman's again.

Junk - Please stop purchasing

The ordering system is so old that they take orders and cancel them saying not in stock/discontinued. If they dont have business they should be more creative than attracting people to hit their website and playing cheap tricks. Customer Service Supervisor doesn't even care about your issue. Newman Marcus has become extremely dishonest and fraudulent! I would give this company zero stars. A skirt that I ordered online was available in all sizes. They processed the order. Then I was notified regarding shipment. Next day, my order was sold out, and somebody else got the skirt. I got apologies and 10% discount for my next purchase, not indicating that it worked only for regular price items. I was going to place another order on a quiet expensive item hoping this card would help me to save some money. No way! It did not work! More than that, Newman Marcus sent me $100 reward card which I was going to use as well. It turned out that it had zero balance instead. I called their customer service, and a representative was very irritated. What a shame! This company used to be so much different, in a good way.

I’ve personally had an excellent experience with this store and online. They carry a huge selection of items that others don’t have. Also don’t be afraid to come in and shop they have affordable prices as well. The customer service is excellent. Returns no questions.

If i can give less than 1 star, I will. The Neiman Marcus closed my account without notice. When I called and waited 30 minutes, they said they can't do anything. Pretended that they don't understand me, can't hear me and my phone doesn't work. Terrible customer service!!!

I ordered several items,took very long for delivery ( not because of shipping speed,it was sent over a week past after I placed my order). My main problems- according to the batch numbers on the packages half of my items were pass expiration date (between a year to a year an a half pass expiration date for shelf life of the products). I will never order from this site again! Spent a lot of money for stinky expired products!

Took advantage of a sale they had and bought expensive products that were still kinda steep with the sale price. I wasn't aware that if they don't have it in stock, it gets shipped from a store that has it. I ordered five products and received them in separate shipments. I was expecting it would be like any other department store online where they put all products you ordered in one box and shipped it to you that way. I'd rather purchase items in the store versus ever using the website online again... Still waiting for the last item I ordered that was supposed to be delivered today, yet it's in Los Angeles and I'm in San Diego.

Placed an order on line for 5 shirts

Placed an order on line for 5 shirts. The shipping information they send you is inaccurate. It took one shire over 2 weeks to deliver although when i placed the order they said in 4 days. Additionally, when i received the shirts, i needed to return 2 of them. They wanted me to pay to return these items.

Gift wrapping

If you want gift wrapping, do not place it through the online checkout! Call and place an order and make sure you ask the rep to check to see if the item is being shipped from their warehouse because if its not they will charge you for gift wrapping and you will be disappointed when you receive your package. I purchased gift wrapping for 3 items and only one was wrapped because I placed that order over the phone. The others were through the online website.

The Gold Standard in shopping

I've been shopping at NM for many years and remember my first impression of it as a child. My aunt had received a lovely necklace for Christmas, and said it was from Neiman-Marcus. As soon as I had my first job, I got a NM card and have never been disappointed in their quality and service. I am especially fond of their restaurants, and visit Zodiacs when I travel. Now we have one in New York City, so I'm very happy. The staff is always pleasant and easy to deal with, and in all these years, I've never been disappointed. I got my mink coat from NM, and everything I own from them is special and makes me feel gorgeous.

in my opinion and simply said Neiman Marcus is one of the worst department stores I've ever dealt with. After receiving the same bag four times, dirty bags, bags just thrown in boxes, defective emblems on YSL wallet and handbags and even after verifying at the YSL boutique that they made a mistake sending me a wallet that had a parched emblem on the front of it, they have the nerve to take me off of their online list of people who could shop with them. Then I received a Jimmy Choo bag that which was dirty the dust bag was dirty the bag was defective and several other bags I had to send back the company that were defective I have had nothing but a bad experience with this company so buyer be aware. Neiman Marcus doesn't like to admit when they're wrong I mean they sent me the same bag four times to my front door after calling them and calling them and calling them then suddenly their security company decides to put me on a dirt list of people who can't shop with them. Sometimes it takes me a little while to make a decision about certain purchases. I enjoy being able to shop in a brick and mortar store, try on a product before I purchase it, and have the convenience of making returns in person. With Neiman Marcus I can shop in the store but not feel forced to make a purchase right then and there. I can try on something for size and touch the product to feel for quality and then I can go home and make my purchase online! This works perfectly for me! And, if I change my mind, I can easily take my purchase in to the store for return or exchange.

They don't have the most accessible website and the online deals are few. It doesn't rival the experience of shopping in store. I would much rather visit a brick and mortar store. It is a much more pleasurable experience.

Love Neiman Marcus online

I’m not sure why everybody else has had problems. Every time I order from Neiman Marcus it’s a great experience. My recent order was for two items and I used a coupon code. One of my items ended up being on back order. They allowed me to cancel that item and I placed another order for same item different size. Customer service gave me another coupon code so I’ll still get the deal. It has always been easy for me to get fast help from customer service.

Refused to honor sale price online

I purchased an handbag that was listed online at a discounted price as a mothers day gift. My purchase was canceled without notice. I was told by the supervisor that my discounted handbag was the result of a employee putting the wrong price online. She stated some one of higher authority did not approve of my purchase. After about 30 mins on the phone with the supervisor she reordered the bag. Later on that afternoon I went to check my online order status and again it was cancelled. This time customer service stated it was due to the handbag not being in stock. But the item was in fact in stock at full price. Buyer beware Neiman marcus does not honor their online prices and will cancel your order so they can sell it at a higher price. It is not the customers fault that the items are not properly priced online. And to top it off the supervisor that i spoke to informed me that other customers had purchased that handbag at the same discounted price that same day. I also did not receive a survey of any kind from Neiman Marcus regarding my experience. Customer service is not their priority buyer beware.

Sent wrong product

So I ordered a MK from their website for a gift for a friends graduation and I ordered a nice looking sleek handbag/tote and I got what looked like a sports bag. They sent me a completely different bag from what I ordered. I don’t understand why they would send a bag that doesn’t even look like the one I ordered. Completely different fabric and design, it was honestly so disappointing. Luckily, I ordered a head of time and I was able to go to Macy’s to buy another but still, crazy that I had to deal with that and I don’t even know how their return process is. After reading other reviews on trust pilot, it literally sounds like a headache, not looking forward to it.

Run. Don't Walk! Run to Saks instead! Neiman Marcus used to be synonymous with quality. Not anymore! I would give ZERO stars if I could. I honestly don't know why I was sent the wrong item. I don't know if the Rep selected the wrong item when I called customer service to place the order or if the Rep had a glitch in her Neiman Marcus ordering system. Either way, I spent four hours to send this item back. One and one-half hours either on hold or in conversation with a call center supervisor of trying to reach supervisors. Thirty minutes to the FedEx location to mail it back and thirty minutes to return from FedEx. And an hour and a half to scrounge a box (the one Neiman Marcus sent had holes in it) or meticulously photograph the box contents and photograph proof that I was sending it back and to actually pack and tape up the box, etc. I had to return the gift with purchase of course, which is a bummer. I then placed the order with Saks and received the correct item in no time!

Do not order online from NM!!!

I returned an item almost 3 weeks ago and the tracking information is showing the item hasn't left town yet. Customer support at NM says I just have to wait until it gets there and they process the return. It should not take weeks to ship and process a return. Do not order online from NM unless you are absolutely certain you won't need to return it.

Online promotional gift card

Online promotional gift card! I made 2 orders and they only give 1 gift card but allowed me to see a promotional gift card in the second order and I called the customer service, they are horrible. Avoid this online site and go to purchase at Saks fifth avenue. At Saks, when they do promotional gift card, they ship gift card right away with the order. Also another horrible service at neiman Marcus was if you purchase several items in one order, they shipping 7 or 8 packages to you and each package contained 1 item 🤣 unlike at Saks, they ship you everything in one package. Neiman Marcus has a horrible inventory management skill. I used to receive old cosmetics items to Tbh. Avoid at all costs for Neiman Marcus

Arrogant and airheaded customer service and social media staff

You sell 10,000 dollar blazers yet your customer service staff are completely illiterate and do not understand English in America! I received an e-mail from your customer service who doesn't understand English and has no idea what the problem is. Why is she contacting me without any new updates and has no clue whatsoever what is happening? She informed me that my transaction was successful on February 11 yet my order was cancelled. Does she even know what she is saying? Worse still your Facebook lack-of-support has arrogant therefore also ignorant staff who has never shopped much before and has no idea how financial transactions work. Is that why you employ them in such positions so they can not and do not want to help the customer at all costs? Your Facebook support that hides behind anonymity with zero accountability prefers arguing and having their right of way with customers than helping. Why do they hate their jobs so much? How do you expect people to pre-order fancy items from your store if you keep cancelling orders and failing to live up to your promises? What kind of luxury service is this? Your competitors shipped out the same items you cancelled for me the very next day! Do you not have an accounts department or any staff with real experience? Profiling their customers

Neiman Marcus has a habit of profiling their online buyers. Purchased a dress via their customer service number, only to receive an email the next day stating there is an issue with the payment. Monique explained that all new buyers typically have to be verified by calling the bank for the security of the customer. My address could not be validated in their system, so she had to call my bank (on a conference call with me on the line) in order to ask the bank if the address i provided was a valid address connected to my bank card. She specifically told me that if I did not allow this to occur, I would have to provide my bank statement to validate my billing address. I asked to speak to a manager, Gary, who relayed the same info. All new online buyers have to undergo a fraud verification. I cancelled my order and will never shop at this store again. Not everyone is a thief and their fraud department is most likely profiling according to addresses and names. Please leave a review if you have been treated the same way by Neiman Marcus.

BEWARE !!

BEWARE !!! So I've shopped at Neiman for years and enjoyed my experience with every salesperson except David P., the MFK representative at Neiman's in Scottsdale AZ. This snobby prune has the personality of a lit match. And, the moment you sign on the dotted line, he is no longer interested in breathing the same air nor will he give you the promotional gifts you're entitled to for the money you've spent. The manager (fragrance) did turn this into a positive experience by listening, apologizing and ensuring my needs were met. And it's because of her that I 3will continue shopping there however, this guy is a deal breaker and should not be in customer service!

WATCH OUT for scammers!!!!! if i could give them -7000 stars i would. i have bought clothes that costs more than $3000, and they have shipped my items and all. next thing i know two week after, i was asleep, woke up up to $309, $208, $590.50 dollars have been taken from my account from borderfree which is neiman marcus, have sent them several emails with bank proofs no one answers, then i tried to reached out to them via their number they simply said call ur bank and stop ur credit card its simply a fraud. yes. just like that. i have never experienced something like this in my life. not even very cheap websites. such a shame. please help me expose them i really want to upload the bank pictures and weird transactions i got from them, also i dont know how to report them to FTC since i live in saudi arabia, but i will make sure to write this everywhere for consumers to be careful from such scammers. please save your money and never buy from unethical scammers. worst experience in my life.

Rude Live Chat agent (Leonardo)

I encountered a rude Live Chat agent named Leonardo. It was 1:30pm my time on November 14 (I'm in Western Australia) so he would have been working the night shift but if you're going to have people working at night, make sure they can answer customer's questions, not direct them to parts of the website they've already seen and be dismissive (he abruptly ended the live chat). He's representing a high end store and acted as if I had disturbed him. I bought the items I wanted from Amazon instead.

Again, another high end company with little to no customer service. Purchasing in store is a much better experience but purchases online are Russian Roulette. Not good experiences at all.

I odered an expensive clutch on 10/26/21. I received a confirmation of the order at the time it was placed. On 11/2/2022 I received a notification email from NM stating that package had shipped. It included a FedEx tracking number. When I click the tracking link it took me directly into the FedEx tracking site. I receive the message: “No record of this tracking number can be found at this time, please check the number and try again later.” How is this possible for the package to have shipped out yet the tracking number does not show up in the FedEx system? I called Nm and reported the issue and I was told it was delivered. I said how is this possible? I can’t even track the package because NM sent me invalid tracking number. I went to the post office to check, the package is not shipped also post office customer service informed me to contact the shopper because the tracking number is invalid. After several calls. NM opened a claim said it will be resolved but it never did. I thought Neiman Marcus was a high end, reputable business & I was sadly mistaken. I was a dedicated customer I will never order anything NM again.

My order was delayed several times, and when I finally received it… the item was broken… shattered. They were sold out of the item so I was unable to get it. I was given a discount on another item…not much. I was told that I can get a discount on the shattered item if I would like to keep it. What? It was a big ticket item. Otherwise I need to pack it up and wait for fedex to pick it up on a scheduled date and time. Why I’m I packing up a shattered item? I guess a picture/video isn’t enough. Nor my disappointment of not getting the item.

All my orders were canceled

All of my orders were canceled one by one after 2 weeks I placed them. How can such a big company do business like that? After discovering that Bergdorf Goodman (which I already have a negative review on) is a subsidiary of Neiman Marcus, everything is more apparent. These stores are not worth wasting time on them. You buy things and after a few weeks, they cancel your orders and tell you that the items you purchased have been oversold (even though I saw these items in stock on the website all this time). I received 4 emails like that. So maybe do something with your system so people won't see and buy items that are already out of stock?

Ordered a coat on 12/23, with delivery date promised of 1/16. On 1/11, received an email with the message, "order cancelled." No explanation. Called customer service and was told it was cancelled due to high holiday demand. What? And agent repeatedly called me "sir", despite my unambiguous name of Virginia. Neiman-Marcus used to be a great brand - no more.

Worst online ordering site I've ever dealt with. I ordered a gift on December 19th with expedited shipping and thought I would receive it prior to Christmas. Not only did I not receive my order by Christmas; it's January and I still haven't gotten my gift. So I tried to cancel this order and Neiman Marcus submitted my request. They haven't cancelled it and they make the orders total amount pending every other day without shipping it. This so unacceptable, just wanted a Christmas present for my wife and got nothing. Don't order from Neiman Marcus you'll be disappointed!

What can I do about being sold wrong jewlry designer?

In store experience was very nice. Employees were very friendly and helpful at the time of purchases. But any customer spending thousands of dollars in one visit should be treated very well.. my issue is with the jewelry clerk. Mainly I've just discovered 16 months later he sold me a pair of roberto coin earrings for $700.00. And they are in fact not roberto coin but Sydney Evans earrings. I was told the roberto coin were "on sale and how rare it is for his jewelry to be under $1000.00.. im soo not happy. And i don't even want them now. I want to return them. But I'm sure I can't now

Multiple Attempts to Get Correct Order, Duplicate Charge

Ordered 4 items, received 3. However, the 3 items I received did not match the NM packing list. Items I received were correct; packing list was not. I told them this was okay - just send me the 4th item, which was missing. They kept insisting that this item had already been sent, and that I had NOT received 3 items, which were in the box. I asked for a replacement for the 4th item. Now, they are charging me for all four items (for the SECOND time), when all I want is the missing 1 of 4 items from the original order. There have been days of back-and-forth emails about this. It's such a simple matter -- I cannot imagine why it can't be handled without so much hassle, or why I am now being charged twice. By the way, their emails to me have been written in very poor English, so it's possible this is someone in a foreign-based "call center" or customer service third party contractor, and the "Customer Care" representative is not fluent enough to understand the correspondence. Anyway, the service is NOT what you would expect from Neiman Marcus. They are simply not the company they used to be.

TERRIBLE company

TERRIBLE company. They send wrong items, leave you with orders processing for long periods of time. Cancel orders on you weeks after you order items. 0/10. Customer service rarely answers. Had to drive an hour out to make a return on an expensive item that was incorrect. By the time my order came I was not able to get the correct item. Upon getting to the store to return my item I couldn’t find a single employee to process my return for 20 minutes.

Don’t order from them!! I ordered a gift for Christmas IN OCTOBER thinking why not? I found what I want to get someone, might as well get it nice and early. After 2.5 months, the order is still processing. Also, I had 2 day shipping! Unfortunately, I think they are a scam. I’ve called customer service at least 30 times over the past 75 days and they just say the delay is due to weather and the holiday. For 75 days?? Don’t bother ordering from them. I also hear that half of the time when an item says it ships, it’s just so they can charge your credit card. It doesn’t usually ship and then you have to fight for a refund

What a disaster!

I ordered an automatic espresso machine online for my elderly father, which showed in stock, on December 15 2022. The item could be delivered in 2 days which was great. Then it all went downhill from there. Like literally hundreds of other consumers feed back on reputable review site other than Google; my item never shipped. First a two day delay. Then an additional week delay. Then an email from the President of NM that the item would not be shipped before Christmas. Each time I called I was told the item was shipping the next day or so. It is now December 27th and still no shipping notification. Had they been honest with me initially that they were having significant issues in their Dallas warehouse I could have canceled the order and just purchased the item elsewhere or locally. Neiman Marcus has surely fallen far from the top of the retail pack. Lies, lies, and then more lies and then a ridiculous 15% off coupon to use on my next purchase. Lol… there will NEVER be a next purchase from them. I will be lucky they do not cancel my order or to receive this item before next Christmas 2023. We are now on a quest to get this machine delivered and if we are successful I will consider it a huge feather in my cap! If you need a gift for someone special in your life, please consider purchasing that gift from another store that values its customers. *** Update 12-27-2023 1:33pm Well it gets even worse when I thought we were at the very bottom. A few days before Christmas, when it became evident to the customer service rep that my item would not be delivered in time for Christmas, he offered me an additional 10% discount to offset the huge inconvenience. As of now, that discount has now been removed and my item has still not been shipped. Believe it or not, there really is no bottom for Neiman Marcus customer service or customer appreciation. Net/Net from speaking to someone else who purchased this espresso machine without a NM discount coupon; they ordered the very same machine two days after me on December 17th and they received their machine on December 23rd. Neiman Marcus does not want to sell me this machine with a coupon that they sent me! I did attempt to cancel the order on Dec 31 with their customer service BUT they told me they could not cancel the order because the item was being delivered on Jan 2nd 2023. Well just like all the other BS stories I have received them; no shipping notification and no delivery. Now that all of the Christmas sales are over I will leave this order out there until infinity and take the appropriate action against them as required because their own sales records will show how machines ordered with a coupon were not processed and machines ordered without a coupon were processed.

Canceled Christmas gifts

Placed an order for Christmas gifts on 12/9, on 12/21 I received an email my order was canceled. I called and was able to have the items ordered again, for delivery after Christmas. I just didn't understand the canceling of my order without any options or notice. I was told the warehouse was overloaded and not able to ship in time for Christmas delivery.

Neiman Marcus didn’t provide the silver gift boxes they normally do and then I asked about it, the sales person said she didn’t know it was a gift. I was told to bring the items back and they would box them as they usually do, I brought them back and my son picked them up for me. However, when he brought them back I saw that all the gifts were all put in one large box. Evidently the sales person did this because now they charge for their gift wrapping 7.50 per box and do not offer the silver boxes anymore. It would have been nice had she explained this from beginning instead and the. I could have decided on whether or not to pay for the service instead of this back and forth nonsense where they put all the gifts together in one large box. For a luxury store not to give a box for clothing purchases that are a gift is ridiculous and then to handle it as she did telling me that she did the best she could was unprofessional in my opinion. This store has definitely changed.

***Don’t order online*** Customer Service Lies and items won’t ship*** Ordered a purse for my wife for Christmas on 12/11/22. On 12/15/22 they said it would be shipped on 12/19. On 12/19 they said 12/21. I contacted customer service and was advised that they were delayed due to weather and lack of staffing. They apologized and said they would 2 day ship it and I would receive it on 12/23, with a confirmation email with tracking info to follow our conversation. On 12/22 I checked my bank statement and saw they refunded me the purchase amount but their site still showed the item being prepared for shipping. Still have yet to receive a confirmation email from the first call to customer service. Reached back out to customer service and they advised they cancelled my order and could not fill it at this time. Suggested I try back after the holidays. Worst online shopping experience I’ve ever encountered. I re-ordered it from a reputable store on 12/23 and already received a notification that it has shipped and will arrive the day after Christmas. Better than the BS Neiman Marcus is trying to pull. If you can’t fulfill online orders then don’t take them. First and last time I will shop with them. Do better Neiman Marcus you’re embarrassing yourself. High end my a** and save your 15% off promo. Can’t use it if you don’t fill the order.

As many of others have noted completely shameful disgusting business. Supposed to be a high end luxury shopping experience and service. Ordered a very expensive bag to surprise my wife with. Ordered well Ahead of their advertised order by deadline to receive for Xmas. Paid to have to shipped overnight anyway just to be extra safe. Item was in stock , 63 of them and simply never shipped and now won’t be here in time. Each day customer service told me I’d get a tracking number for the next until they told me now I won’t get it til after Xmas. Ruined really nice surprise I had set up for my wife before trip to Europe. Now we won’t even have her Xmas gift until we’re back next year in January. To make it worse get a completely out of touch email from their clueless president Ryan Ross (I’m sure just someone on his PR team) for 15% off a future purchase? Future purchase? We will never purchase from NM again. Falsely advertised order cutoff dates that I ordered before, I could have purchased somewhere else instead. I made orders from Bloomingdale’s, Saks and Nordstrom after this order and I received all of those without issue. NM is an embarrassment.

I ordered my standard 000's of $ of ornaments to be shipped out as presents on December 8. Two day air. A few made it. With NO NOTE or indication of who it was from. Luckily, it has been a tradition, so the recipients called to ask me. I checked on five last week that had not been delivered because I hadn't gotten notice that they shipped and I wanted to check on them. WHILE I STILL HAD TIME TO MAKE ALTERNATIVE ARRANGEMENTS. I was assured that they would be delivered on time. TODAY, I receive notice that you have cancelled one order completely and the rest of them would not be received until after Christmas. Customer service response - some lame excuse of the warehouse not finding the product to ship. I ordered them in early December! After spending over an hour on the phone with customer service, I was told that the remaining items would NOT make it by Christmas and so i cancelled them. I also asked for the matter to be escalated so that the company knew the problems they were having. Again, this was too late to do anything else. Today, I received a note saying that the items had not been cancelled, but had been shipped and were going to arrive on December 25, although my fedex delivery folks tell me they will not be working that day. I have been charged for items I specifically asked to be canceled because NM could not fulfill its delivery agreement it made to me. It is really unacceptable, feels illegal and certainly not the kind of business Neiman's used to be. Neiman's used to pride themselves on customer service. What a long fall. Spent another hour in a useless chat before moving over to social media.Over a social media message, the company suggested I visit one of their stores for last minute shopping! OUTRAGEOUS. Wish there was a zero star rating. Really disappointed that this once great store has failed so miserably.

Not Dependable and offer no customer service

I ordered 3 items for Xmas presents. One item was backordered, they never sent any notice I had to figure out on my own. Placed a new order paid for overnight shipping I still don't have the item and probably won't receive in time for Xmas. Ordered 3 items as gifts, was billed for 3 and payed for 3, however they only shipped one even though they show all 3 were delivered. I have been unable to get help via phone or email.

I seriously wish I could give negative stars. I placed an order on 12/11 and my item still hasn’t been shipped. Customer service sounds like they are working in bed with bad attitude. Also I placed an order on 12/13 and was charged twice for my item. It took 10 days for me to receive my refund. This has been the worst online shopping experience EVER!! So many children will be disappointed Christmas Day. Shame on you Neiman Marcus! Meanwhile you’re being greedy promising things you can commit to.
